Sharif Bey: Autoethnography, a solo exhibition at the Alfred Ceramic Art Museum

Alfred Ceramic Art Museum is delighted to announce Autoethnography, a solo exhibition showcasing the work of Sharif Bey. The exhibition highlights Bey’s remarkable versatility in clay, spanning functional pots, poetic figurative works, commanding wall pieces, and the monumental bead‑like forms of his Adornment series.

 

Drawing on the layered “ethnos” of his own life and influences, Bey’s practice resists easy categorization, exploring how meanings shift across cultures, histories, and forms. Autoethnography celebrates the expansive possibilities of ceramic art, presenting a diverse body of work unified by Bey’s singular vision and dynamic material fluency.
